The City Marshal has shut down the Calvin Tran boutique at 246 Mulberry Street in Nolitam and the landlord has seized possession. A successful designer, Tran was on Bravo's latest season of The Fashion Show. Racked conducted an exit interview with him after the show's end. The Marshall's notice, dated March 18, is likely due to non-payment of rent. A call to the boutique leads to the voice mail for "Jim Martin."

Looks like a Moroccan market is not coming to Mott Street as stated here in June. After noticing the tell tale papered windowed at 248 Mott Street had recently become paperless, with no sign of any new tenancy, NYC The Blog checked the listing online. It shows the 400 square feet space is still available for lease, at $7,950 per month. Photos also showcased a large, windowed walk-in cooler that resemble an empty bathroom...
The windows at Christian Audigier's Soho branch on Prince and Lafayette Streets have been papered! This doesn't look good. Has it befallen the same fate its neighbor Parasuco succumbed to, and fallen out of fashion? Are the male fashionistas of New York City moving on to other clothing lines featuring bedazzled dragons? 
One can almost feel the excitement of 24-year-old aspirational fashionistas all over Soho who can't afford a Bottega Veneta bag or those must have Gucci sandals. Because a new Coach store has opened on Prince Street, at the corner of West Broadway. Yup, don't deny yourself. Everyone deserves a new pair of sneakers, every inch stamped with the Coach logo, made by the hands of 11 little girls in Turkey. 
Looks like the market for clean and organized tschotke stores is heating up in Little Italy! Laurel Jewelry & Co. is now open at 184-186 Mulberry, between Kenmare and Broome (map). 
The new reality on Bleecker Street isn't for everyone. Dylan & Harry, the preciously named little children's boutique that couldn't, on the corner of Bleecker and Christopher, is closed. Open as of just a few weeks ago, it was noted they also had a location on Madison Avenue. That location may or may not be closed as well. Their online location, dylanandharry.com, has also been shuttered. 
Bleecker Street's Pure Dark chocolate, "harvested from nature," has closed. They have three other retail outlets on the Upper East Side and Midtown.
Trust Fund Baby, a store specializing in fashions for your little one, is undergoing renovations. Open at 239 Elizabeth Street since 2005, NYC The Blog has actually never stepped foot in (for no particular reason). You can view a panorama of the interior here. They expect to be open this week. 
Sloane NYC closed their doors on the corner of Mott and Broome streets, but not all is lost for those who loved owner and designer Brian Stanziale's one of a kind pieces. Stanziale has opened an eponymous outlet at 112 Greene Street, inside The Garment Room. Sloane NYC was on Mott St since October of last year at a favorable rate but without a lease. Now the landlord has a leased tenant and Brian found a new space. 
As previously noted, and in spite of temporary confusion, PlayBeautiful, a temporary World Cup "pop-up viewing-hub" is now open at 201 Mulberry. Though for whatever reason, calling it a "pop-up viewing-hub" is really just going to great length to avoid calling it a pop up store selling licensed sports apparel from Nike, Puma, Adidas and others. 
A walk down the 
Shopping Box, as the newly opened store is called, has lined their walls with shelving consisting of rows of white boxes; most of these boxes are holding items for sale. The items however, are owned not by the store but by others looking to sell them.
