Someone on 6th Avenue near 14th Street has a very diplomatic, and lovingly crocheted message for dog owners in the area. Though a polite tact, its likely that much stronger salvos will have to be thrown
in this notorious battle between civilized people and those with dogs who piss and sh*t all over public property.
Dog owners in New York City, as everyone is aware, continue to take little Bardsley out to defecate all over flowers, tree beds or someone's bicycle. Not so surprising, the only people who think this behavior is acceptable are dog owners, college students and rich people. Cat owners, bird owners, fish owners and people with children do not let them defecate outside all over the street.
It seems inevitable however, that dogs peeing and pooping all over public property will become the next frontier in publicly unacceptable behavior, like smoking or stealing ATMs.
One sign at a time, people will rise up, until finally municipalities act to restrict the practice. In the meantime, just because you can take a sh*t on a flower bed, or piss on someone's bicycle, doesn't mean you should. Please potty train Bardsley, or maybe get a fish, mmm?

Colorful, hand painted signage marks the door of Bank Iran at 113 Leroy Street in the West Village. According to Boveda.tumblr.com, "Bank Iran includes the studios of Kathryn Lynch, Philippe Arman and Carlos Little and artist in indefinite residence John Furgason, as well as an exhibition space."
Jay Shells, well known for his artists campaign against errant dog sh*t, installed a massive mural this past Saturday on a burned up building at west 10th Street and Greenwich Avenue which "has been a real eye sore in the neighborhood for over a year," he told NYC The Blog. 
Manhattan can add grapevines to its expanding list of fruits and vegetables growing on the island—a list that includes spearmint, tomatoes, blackberries and more; including the pot.
The new reality on Bleecker Street isn't for everyone. Dylan & Harry, the preciously named little children's boutique that couldn't, on the corner of Bleecker and Christopher, is closed. Open as of just a few weeks ago, it was noted they also had a location on Madison Avenue. That location may or may not be closed as well. Their online location, dylanandharry.com, has also been shuttered. 
Bleecker Street's Pure Dark chocolate, "harvested from nature," has closed. They have three other retail outlets on the Upper East Side and Midtown.
A walk down the 
Did you know the NYPD has a Movie/TV Unit? They do, and the car seen in the photo at left (note the title on rear panel) was spotted on a set in the West Village a few weeks back.
