Blizzard Turns Back Clock To 1978

Stranded and abandoned cars (and buses!) throughout the city ended up ablaze yesterday, including this one photographed last night on Canal Street near Lafayette. Perhaps to the delight of anyone who pines for the good ole bad days (bad ole good days?) of New York City of yesteryear, yesterday's blizzard of 12.26/27 seems to have set New York City back at least twenty years in that direction.

Everyone Is Stuck In The Snow!


Clockwise from left: Two cars snowed in over night in the middle of Henry Street on the Lower East Side, an M103 bus stranded and plowed in on Lexington Avenue south of 96th Street and a taxi and NYPD cruiser out of service in Chinatown's Chatham Square, two of four vehicles trapped in the road there.
