According to tweets sent by Harlem resident
Aaron Howell, a man jumped
in front of a 3 train at Times Square at approximately 9pm tonight, sending emergency personnel
scrambling underneath the train to reach the individual:
They [sic] fire department is under the train, they brought axes, cutters and lifters.
Howell reported the police shouted out, "He's alive."
The train operator was sitting in the first car looking stunned, sad. A moment of silence...
