Private Art In Public At 15 Prince Street
At vintage clothing store Eleven, at 15 Prince Street, hangs private art in public. The work seen in the photo above, done by Lucy McLauchlan of Beat13, was installed this spring, one of many that have been displayed on the wall. The work changes occasionally but consistently (see the wall before this one). Eleven's Irish-born owner Oliver Harkness explained he has all the pieces that have graced the building's exterior wall, and some day hopes to exhibit them all together.
Believe it or not, lots of the merchandise for sale at Eleven, named one of the best vintage stores in America, is not only affordable (sometime more so than Salvation Army) but the merchandise is clearly carefully selected, including some incredible vintage bedding.
