Chinatown Brasserie, on Lafayette Street north of Houston, was the scene of a large party last night featuring suits from the Mayor's Office and elsewhere important enough to have a small platoon of security and drivers standing sentry. An unofficial count showed at least 18 large black SUVs and Town Cars in the immediate vicinity of the Brasserie.
A restaurant employee confirmed to NYC The Blog that there was a large party inside, including the Mayor, "celebrating the retirement of someone from the Mayor's Office."
