In The Market For An NYPD Cruiser?

Authentic or not, here's an NYPD cruiser for sale in the U.K. that one would hope it difficult to import into the U.S. without having to answer a lot of questions. The YouTube user selling the car claims it is "genuine...not a replica," and is asking £3500, which is approximately $5,500. The 1998 Chevrolet Lumina "was decommissioned by the NYPD...used on an American Air Force base here in the UK," before being bought privately and restored for use in promotional events.

When pressed on the authenticity of the car, the seller told NYC The Blog: "I am 100% sure it was used by the NYPD as it was sold by GM Canada to the NYPD when new. However, as I don't have any paperwork evidence of this, I am not prepared to say it was definitely used by them just in case."
