Merrill Lynch And It's Not So Subliminal Logo. Lot's Of Good That Did It.

"Symbolizing growth, strength, optimism and confidence, the Bull logo is introduced and becomes the trademark on which all of the financial service subsidiaries of Merrill Lynch & Co. will be identified."

With the recent coverage on Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, AIG, and the financial industry based here in nyc, the logo's of these venerable banks are front and center. It wasn't until today however that Merrill Lynch's iconic logo caught my attention, and I thought to myself, "Wow, that's bold, the folks at Merrill Lynch decided to totally bro out with their logo and make sure it's masculinity was unquestionable."

I mean, I can totally imagine the meeting in the marketing department when this logo was created, with someone remarking, "hmm...what if we sneak in a lightning bolt for the bull's penis? It conveys masculinity and boldness, and lets everyone know that this bull is ready and willing to fuk you in the ass with a lightning bolt penis if you do not get out of his way. Plus, it's also really cool and subliminal."
